Mission of the Organization:
The World Affairs Council of Pittsburgh is an independent, non-partisan, non-profit organization dedicated to promoting a deeper understanding of key contemporary international issues throughout Western Pennsylvania. The Council is committed to informing opinion leaders and decision-makers about developments around the world as they unfold – and to educating them about the relevance of such developments to the region. The Council also has a special focus on secondary schools throughout the region, and works to give students and teachers a more nuanced understanding of the global issues of our time.

Two projects that we have in mind are listed below (50 words max):
1. Global Runners
The World Affairs Council of Pittsburgh is a charity partner for the 2012 Pittsburgh Marathon and we are looking for students to be the Council’s representative to their school for our new “Global Runners” program! The World Runners team will raise money to bring the World Affairs Council’s award-winning education programs to underserved schools throughout the Pittsburgh region!
