The Three Rivers Community Foundation, in collaboration with other key grantmakers and non-profit organizations, is hosting Youth Leading Change (YLC) on October 13th from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Heinz History Center.  This free event will bring 350 high school students, from all of Southwestern Pennsylvania together with social change organizations to build their graduation project, or a community service project of their choosing.  Students will participate in the following activities: selecting a TRCF grantee, or a grantee of another progressive grantmaker for projects; designing action plans; arranging subsequent site visits to complete projects; ; participating in a “Lessons of Leadership” seminar and a scavenger hunt and tour through the History Center; and attending training and skill development workshops in:

•    Social networking

•    Fundraising

•    Legislative advocacy

•    Cre8ing an internship

•    Youth Leading Change

Lunch and a light breakfast will be provided to all of those attending.

We are looking forward to have your students and youth groups be a part of this exciting event.  Each participating school or youth group will bring 8-12 youth, since space for this opportunity is limited.
