Periodically, Three Rivers Community Foundation releases funds which are targeted to a specific area of interest. In the 2008-2009 fiscal year, we conducted two of these special initiatives, one centered on media justice and one on voting issues.
TRCF offers two types of grant support: Project or Operational Grants, generally ranging from $500 to $4,000; and Special Opportunity Grants of up to $500. Grantees use the project or operating grants for a variety of purposes for seed money, strategic moves, community organizing, or collaborations. The grants often provide organizations visibility and a track record that can lead to recognition and attention from other funders and organizations. The Special Opportunity Grants are designed for unplanned opportunities that arise during the year for which the applicant organization did not budget.
