Like giving to a charitable organization for the holidays but still feel attached to giving a physical item? “You can feed two birds with one seed” this holiday season, says TRCF intern, Liesl Meyers, by shopping at Ten Thousand Villages for your holiday gifts. Not only is Ten ThousandVillages a volunteer run store, but all of their items are sourced from people working in small villages that are in need of a steady income. Their craft has been fine tuned and they create beautiful pieces, instruments and decorative items that are perfect gifts during the Holiday season.
Each year the Squirrel Hill Ten Thousand Villages highlights local nonprofits throughout the month of November and December and gives a certain percent of the proceeds to the organization. On November 28th you can shop from 6-8 pm and a percentage of proceeds will go to the Three Rivers Community Foundation. Vegan goodies as well as fair trade coffee will help fuel you through the shopping. We invite you to join us on this night to celebrate and give a gift that will give three times this holiday season.
